Connecting with Clients: A New ‘About Me’ Approach

Okay, it’s about time I figured this out.

For years, I followed the traditional “About Me” formula: a list of accomplishments, credentials, experience, and personal details, all intended to help potential clients connect with me. And while someone may choose to hire me because of a specific designation, my years of experience, or our shared love of biking, that is probably not the most meaningful way to build a connection.

People connect when they believe you understand their problem; and that you are uniquely qualified to help them solve it.

So, I have decided to make my new “About Me” page about the right people: my future clients. It is still technically called an “About Me” page, but it is not really about me. It is about you—your goals, your questions, your concerns, and the decisions you need to make along the way.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this new approach to connecting with people preparing to buy, sell, or rent a home in New York.

About Me: You have decided to make a move. You may already know what you want – and you have an even clearer sense of what you do not want. You can picture the home you hope to find, the sale you need to make, or the next chapter you are ready to begin.

But knowing where you want to go is different from knowing the best way to get there.

Real estate decisions are rarely made with perfect information, but skilled intelligence gathering, sound negotiation strategy, and focused communication are key to informed choices, intelligent decisions, and reduced risk. You don’t need someone to make those decisions for you. You need a partner who can help you understand them. A strategic advisor who can bring clarity to the information, structure to the process, and confidence to the decisions you make along the way.

That is how I have approached real estate representation for more than 20 years,

I help buyers, sellers, renters, landlords, and investors succeed in the New York City and Long Island real estate markets. As an Associate Real Estate Broker and Team Leader of The Excelsior Team at Brown Harris Stevens, I bring together deep market knowledge, strategic thinking, skilled advocacy, negotiation expertise, collaboration and a deep understanding of real estate decisions and the people who make them.

My job is much more than just providing information and updates. Information is everywhere. My job is to dig deeper, and gather the intel that will increase our clarity and power. To help you understand what the information means, which parts matter most, and how each new development affects our negotiation position and our options.

That means helping you look beyond the surface of a property, an offer, or a market statistic. It means identifying risks before they become a problem, recognizing opportunities that may not be immediately obvious, and creating a strategy that reflects your priorities, rather than forcing your goals into a generic process or miscalculated strategy.

Whether you are preparing to sell a longtime home, searching for your first apartment, evaluating an investment, competing in a neighborhood with limited inventory, or negotiating the many terms that can determine whether a transaction succeeds, our unified goal is the same:

To make each decision with clarity, strategy, strength, and confidence in order to achieve the highest possible outcome.
